Mid 20th century style is a longstanding favourite with interior designs, as it pre-empted the pivotal 60s and 70s eras that redefined product design with geometric prints and refined shapes. For furniture and lighting manufacturers, pieces that were originally created over 50 years ago are still their bestsellers today. We’ve seen a lot of refreshes on classics in the past few years, but I’m particularly excited to see Elle Decor name 70s geometric prints as one of the biggest trends for 2020.
Pattern can be a difficult thing to master in a space, but mid-century designs show that we should embrace it! A-symmetrical shapes and tonal colours are the key things to look for if you want to add a bit of 70s style to your room.
If you’re already a convert or if you’re just looking for some pattern inspiration, we’ve chosen our favourite 70s geometric print products for you.
