Coffee Table Books you will actually want to pick up & read

We don’t often sit down to read coffee table books from cover to cover. They’re usually filled with pictures and tiny text, picked up now and then to skim through the beautiful pages when we don’t feel like paying attention to anything in particular.

I’ve always had a weak spot for beautiful books, judging them by the cover for as long as I can remember. I know that’s typically the one thing not to do but these days. However, when it comes to coffee table books the imagery is often as important as the text. The cover now holds more weight than ever as our attention spans are shorter and appeal for aesthetics greater, and are often used as props by interior stylists & home stagers.

Despite my love of a beautiful cover, I still need a coffee table book to function as a book, teaching me something whether through imagery, text or a combination of the two. Here’s my selection of my favourite design-led books which are not only beautiful to leave out for all to see, but ones you’ll actually read too.
